NoMiNoU Ambassador Profile: Meet Jacqueline Parker
With years of experience working in film, fashion and beauty, Jacqueline Parker is one of those makeup artists that you dream of finding. She’s skilled in creating a super natural look, using a light touch to enhance rather than camouflage features – plus she’s one of only a handful of organic makeup artists in Vancouver! Here, Jacqueline shares her beauty secrets and wellness tips in our latest NoMiNoU ambassador interview.
What does wellness mean to you?
Wellness is very important to me and from a beauty standpoint, it’s crucial. I believe self love, self care and wellness is the key to complete beauty. It is important for women and men to take care of their mind, their inner body and their outer physical body in order to not only look their best, but feel their very best.
How long have wellness and mindfulness been important parts of your life? Walk us through your personal wellness journey.
I have been concerned about my overall wellness since the summer of 2013. When I look back on my teen and early adult years, I notice how my physical looks ran my life (especially working in the beauty industry). I was not aware how much of an impact exercise, eating right and self love would have on me. When I started treating my body well, and being kind to myself I actually began loving myself for who I am and in turn, became more authentic.
What does a day in your life look like?
My days are always different. The career I have chosen as a makeup artist is so far from a 9-5 job, and it can be difficult to balance my time. Sometimes I am up at 4 a.m. for morning television, sometimes I am up all night shooting a music video. It’s important for me to take days off. I am lucky to live very close to the beach, so I tend to take long walks when I can.
I also love to dance. This is my favourite form of exercise, whether it’s in the studio with my crew, or in my living room with a hula hoop. I think the best part of my day is when I get to cook. I recently purchased a Vitamix and have been making absolutely everything from scratch!
With such a busy life, how do you maintain balance?
As mentioned above, balance can be difficult and I am still trying to figure it all out while running two businesses. Recently, I have decided to read more paper and less screen, go to bed earlier and wake up earlier. and commit to seeing friends with intention.
What are your top wellness tips?
DRINK WATER! Oh my gosh, this is my biggest skin health tip. I always add a lemon to my water and keep a charcoal stick in my water pitcher.
For me, when it comes to fitness, you must do what you love. I have never been one to hit the gym because I absolutely dread it. If I can attend a dance class, do some yoga in my living room or walk in the forest for two hours, I feel so calm and refreshed.

What or who is currently inspiring you?
I am inspiring myself. I never could have imagined three years ago that my life would turn out the way that it has. I am looking forward to what the future holds.
