Eco Friendly & Ethical Style
We create lifestyle clothing that fosters connection and honours mother earth.
“Having grown up in idyllic rural communities, I developed a deep respect and reverence for nature at a very young age. Inspired by this, I have committed to reducing NoMiNoU’s environmental footprint.”
– Jullianna Charlton, Founder, NoMiNoU

How We Source Our Materials
Athleisurewear such as leggings/shorts and sports bras are made from post-consumer recycled water bottles, finished with ChitoSanté, a natural hypoallergenic antibacterial and wicking component made from post-consumed shellfish.
Athleisurewear also made from other various certified sustainable fabrics including bamboo, and Tencel derived from trees.

What is the Global Recycled Standard?
Global Recycled Standard (GRS) provides verified support for the amount of recycled content in a yarn. It also provides a track-and-trace certification system that helps to ensure that the claim “a fabric is made from recycled polyester” can be officially verified.
The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) addresses input material verification, chain of custody, environmental principles, social requirements, and labeling for textile products made from recycled materials. It aims to be a full-product standard for recycled material content that balances rigor and practicality for the industry and end consumers.
GRS requires that certified companies keep comprehensive records of their use of chemicals, energy, water consumption, and waste water treatment including the disposal of sludge. All prohibited chemicals listed in GOTS are also prohibited in the GRS. Beyond chemical and environmental considerations, GRS also includes extensive provisions related to workers rights.

Recycled Polyester — How It’s Made
Recycled Polyester (PET) is 100% post-consumer recycled raw material. Made from recycled water bottles.
- Plastic PET Containers are sorted and picked up from community recycling centres. They are stripped of their labels and caps, washed, crushed, and chopped into flakes.
- The flakes are then made into a chip form creating PET chips.
- The Chips are then made into filament yarn.
- The recycled yarn is utilized to create fabric.
