The Orange Shirt Society is a non-profit organization with its home in Williams Lake, BC where Orange Shirt Day began in 2013. The Orange Shirt Society was founded by Phyllis (Jack) Webstad. The 2023 T-Shirt features the 2023 Every Child Matters design, which was created by Grade 10 student, Charliss Santos from Alberta.
The purposes of The Orange Shirt Society are:
To support Indian Residential School Reconciliation
To create awareness of the individual, family and community inter-generational impacts of Indian Residential Schools through Orange Shirt Society activities
To create awareness of the concept of “Every Child Matters”
Materials: 67% rayon from bamboo, 29% cotton, 4% spandex
